POPPY RODES

One of the few surviving styles after the destruction caused by World War 1 in Belgium, Poppy Rodes is a nod to the poppies that bloomed in the battlefields of Flanders and the brewery that both created the style and helped it survive, Rodenbach. Historically a mixture of barrel aged and young beers, Poppy Rodes was aged in 2 Lads red wine barrels for 18 months and inoculated with 12 strains of wild yeast. Mildly sour with low hop presence and notes of cherry and oak, with a hint of vanilla. Tulip
